On Saturday, September 20, 2025, a cyberattack hit a service provider used by several European airports, including Brussels, Berlin, and London Heathrow. The incident caused significant disruption, with flight delays and cancellations.

The company has assured that its technicians are working to restore the situation to normal.
“Collins Aerospace is working to quickly resolve the issue,” reads the official statement published on Heathrow’s social media channels.
At Heathrow, airport authorities have advised travelers to check the status of their flights before leaving home and to arrive well in advance: three hours for international flights and two hours for domestic flights.
In Brussels, operations are also is compromised: check-in and boarding procedures are being performed manually due to the automatic systems being blocked, resulting in queues and possible cancellations.
The situation is also critical in Berlin, where the malfunctioning systems have caused significant delays in airport operations. Authorities have explained that technical interventions are already underway to resolve the issue.
The Berlin airport also issued a recommendation to passengers: those scheduled to travel on September 20th must first confirm with the airline whether their flight is operating and only proceed to the airport after confirming their departure.
Unlike other hubs, Frankfurt Airport was unaffected by the attack. According to a spokesperson, operations are continuing as normal, while maintaining high levels of vigilance while waiting for the service provider to fully restore the compromised systems.
