Ally Solos AI Glasses for the Visually Impaired: Autonomy and Safety

Redazione RHC : 22 September 2025 19:45

Envision’s Ally Solos AI glasses are a breath of fresh air for people with visual impairments, helping them read , orient themselves and understand their surroundings without the constant assistance of others.

The built-in camera captures text and scenes around the user, and artificial intelligence instantly reads aloud menus, street signs, documents, and even handwritten notes. This allows you to independently familiarize yourself with bus schedules, choose dishes at a restaurant, or consult documents without needing external assistance.

Ally Solos glasses can do much more than read. They can describe what’s happening nearby, identify objects by color, point out landmarks, and recognize currencies and familiar faces. To help you navigate unfamiliar places safely, the device alerts you to obstacles and provides directions.

The glasses utilize multiple AI models simultaneously: ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Llama, and Perplexity. This combination ensures quick and accurate responses. The device also translates text into multiple languages, connects to iOS and Android apps, supports internet searches, voice commands, and video calls to loved ones for real-time assistance. The open speakers allow the user to hear the AI commands without isolating themselves from the sounds of the surrounding world.

The battery lasts up to 16 hours, with a 15-minute quick charge providing approximately three hours of use and a full charge in less than an hour and a half. The model is available in three colors: black, dark gray, and transparent brown, and in two sizes.

Unlike more accessible models like the Ray-Ban Meta, the Ally Solo is specifically designed for accessibility, combining reading, navigation, and live support functions in a single device. They are an example of how technology can restore independence and confidence, helping people with vision impairment move more freely and participate more actively in life.
