Google is preparing to introduce a new generative AI model for image processing: the Nano Banana 2 Flash . It will be part of its Flash lineup , which focuses on high processing speeds, and will replace the previous version in the same class. According to experts, the new development will be faster and more affordable than the flagship Nano Banana Pro, although it will have lower capabilities.
The Flash line is part of the Gemini family of models and is known for its focus on performance. The main advantage of the Nano Banana 2 Flash is accelerated image generation, useful in applications where response speed and acceptable quality are crucial.
However, the device is not designed for complex creative work that requires in-depth visual processing, but rather for more standard tasks that do not require high precision.
The model’s existence was revealed by user MarsForTech , who had already posted information about Gemini products before their official announcement. According to him, testing of the Nano Banana 2 Flash is already underway, although a definitive launch date has not yet been announced.

Currently, Google’s most advanced image generation development remains Nano Banana Pro, also known as Gemini 3 Pro Image. This tool was created for complex scenarios: from prototyping and infographics to displaying recipes and weather reports.
It stands out for its ability to interpret queries more accurately and generate more accurate results thanks to advanced reasoning algorithms and access to relevant data through search.
Unlike the Pro version, Nano Banana 2 Flash doesn’t rely on such powerful mechanisms, but it’s a good option for situations where performance and optimal resource utilization are crucial. Google is therefore expanding its range of solutions for a variety of tasks, not limited to high-performance systems.
