Musk reveals he may lose control of Tesla

Redazione RHC : 16 August 2025 06:39

Musk recently stated publicly that his control over the company is precarious and that he “could be ousted.” The controversy arose from Musk’s publicly expressed concerns about his stake. Musk reportedly recently responded on social media platform X, stating that his current stake of about 12.8% is not enough to ensure his dominant position in the company.

He fears he could be “ousted” by activist shareholders in the future, when the company produces “millions of robots.” A recent post mentioned that Musk’s equity stake was 21.2% and suggested that most of the shares had been used as collateral for a loan.

Musk responded: “Just so you know, I don’t currently have any personal loans secured by Tesla stock.” He also noted that the tax rate on his stock options is close to 45%, meaning his net increase in voting control is only about 4%. Musk has said he hopes to own about 25% of the company’s shares to gain enough influence to shape the company’s development.

All this comes after the Tesla Diner, the fast food restaurant, was announced in 2018, promising a restaurant that would be both retro and futuristic, and was widely criticized. So far, the US company has only garnered problems and criticism rather than praise for its latest innovation. Missing and unconvincing products, long waits, and innovative innovations presented at the inauguration have already disappeared.

In this initial launch phase of the project, the American audience responded, but they didn’t find exactly what the electric mobility giant had promised. Tesla owners have preferential lanes for service and continue to frequent the restaurant, but doubts about the future are growing.

The parking lot has eighty spaces for Tesla cars, which can be charged while the customer is inside the restaurant. One of the most publicized innovations involved the presence of Optimus humanoid robots in the restaurant. On their opening day, they served popcorn to customers; on the second day, they stopped working.

Tesla has already taken its worker robots offline. They’re currently stored in display cases on the upper floor of the fast food restaurant, causing some disappointment among customers who had seen them working on social media and arrived to find them inactive. The restaurant has also experienced technical problems, with long lines due to the inefficiency of the automatic machines.
