On November 19, Huawei presented the latest developments in its HarmonyOS line for the office sector during a technical meeting with institutional partners and enterprises. The company confirmed that HarmonyOS-based PCs have achieved full supply chain autonomy and introduced two significant innovations: the launch of the HarmonyOS Enterprise Edition beta phase and the imminent arrival of the Huawei HM740 commercial laptop.
The event, opened by a speech by Zhu Dongdong, president of Huawei’s tablet and PC division, highlighted the group’s desire to accelerate the adoption of the operating system in the professional sector.
According to Zhu, the development work conducted in recent years has allowed Huawei to build a competitive platform across multiple layers—hardware, operating system, and application ecosystem—with the aim of offering reliable solutions to government agencies and enterprises.

HarmonyOS Enterprise Edition, based on HarmonyOS 6 , is designed to meet the typical needs of government and corporate environments. Key features include two separate digital spaces—one professional and one personal—managed with a simple touch screen. Physical isolation between the two environments ensures the protection of corporate data without impacting employees’ daily operations. The system also introduces a zero-latency deployment mechanism, which automates device setup from the first boot, significantly reducing IT overhead.
On the artificial intelligence front, the platform integrates an advanced version of the Xiaoyi assistant , which supports dedicated office functions: intelligent annotations, guided analysis, internal knowledge management, and document production assistance. This is complemented by distributed collaboration capabilities between devices, already validated in the consumer sector, and compatibility with over a thousand peripherals, a useful element for enhancing organizations’ existing capabilities.
Meanwhile, the new HM740 laptop is preparing to hit the market as a device designed for government and professional environments. The model is the result of deep hardware and software integration, with dedicated optimizations for the HarmonyOS system to ensure stability, security, and operational efficiency.
Huawei emphasizes that these solutions aim to transcend traditional competition based solely on the technical specifications of commercial PCs , focusing instead on an integrated approach that combines system security and intelligent functions. The company presents this direction as a potential redefinition of the value of the professional PC: no longer just an office tool, but a strategic component of corporate digitalization processes.
According to data shared during the meeting, Huawei has provided services to over 10,000 enterprises , accumulating more than 2,700 patents related to the development of HarmonyOS. Its experience in sectors such as public administration, finance, and manufacturing has contributed to the definition of solutions tailored to real-world needs, supported by five years of research and the work of over 10,000 engineers.
With the launch of the enterprise version of the operating system and the arrival of the new HM740, Huawei believes it has ushered in a new cycle of evolution for the commercial PC market, based on technology independence, intelligent collaboration, and a rapidly expanding ecosystem.
