Asus Hacked: Everest Ransomware Group Claims Data Breach

Asus Hacked: Everest Ransomware Group Claims Data Breach

10 December 2025 08:00

Asus announced that one of its suppliers had been hacked. Meanwhile, the Everest ransomware group claimed to have stolen a terabyte of data from three companies: Asus, Qualcomm, and ArcSoft.

According to the criminal hackers, the data leak involved not only documents, but also the source code for the smartphone’s camera software, artificial intelligence models, and internal software. Asus representatives say the issue only affected one of the company’s suppliers: the attackers managed to access part of the phone’s camera software source code.

However, the company insists that no damage was caused to its systems, products, or customer data.

The company added that it is already strengthening supply chain security. However, the statement did not reveal the name of the compromised supplier or the details of the data stolen by the hackers.

Meanwhile, the Everest ransomware group has posted screenshots of allegedly stolen files on its darknet website. The attackers claim to have stolen a terabyte of data from Asus, ArcSoft, and Qualcomm. The hackers claim to have stolen:

  • binary segmentation modules;
  • sources and patches;
  • RAM and Memory Register Dump;
  • AI Models and Weights;
  • OEM internal tools and firmware;
  • test video and dual camera calibration data;
  • set of images;
  • crash logs and debug reports;
  • information on HDR and post-processing;
  • test APKs and experimental apps;
  • scripts and automation solutions;
  • binary calibration file.

Asus representatives have not yet commented on the group’s claims. It is also unclear whether the attack actually affected Qualcomm and ArcSoft.

The company did not respond to media inquiries about whether the stolen materials belonged to Asus itself or to other companies.
