Beijing announced a package of support measures for humanoid robots at the World Robot Conference (WRC) 2025, aiming to reach an annual production capacity of 10,000 units by 2027. The new policy includes initiatives to expand the scope of real-world robot use and extensive subsidies covering the entire value chain of humanoid robot production.
As part of the initiative, the Robomall, described as a 4S robot shop, and the Robot Restaurant opened in Beijing have made headlines. The venues are designed to create sales channels for the robots while also offering the public the opportunity to interact with the technology.
Morgan Stanley said in a statement: “We believe continued government support will be critical to accelerating adoption in China and affirming China’s leadership in the intelligent robot industry on a global scale.”
The capital’s initiatives represent a significant step in China’s efforts to become a world leader in humanoid robot technology and manufacturing.
The measures announced in Beijing mark a strategic acceleration in the race for global leadership in the humanoid robot industry. With ambitious production targets, extensive subsidies, and concrete initiatives, the Chinese capital is creating an ecosystem where industry, research, and consumers can directly interact, bridging the gap between technological development and practical application.
If these policies are successful, China will not only consolidate its competitive advantage but could also redefine the global landscape of intelligent robotics.
Government support, combined with faster adoption in real-world scenarios, could transform humanoid robots from technological curiosities to central components of daily life and the global economy.
