Nike has launched an investigation following claims by the hacker group World Leaks that it had access to information stolen from its systems.
“We always take customer privacy and data security seriously. We are investigating a potential cybersecurity incident and are actively evaluating the situation,” Nike representatives commented .
Hackers claim to have breached Nike’s data on January 22 and stolen 188,347 files totaling approximately 1.4 TB.

It has not yet been possible to determine exactly what information the attackers apparently stole. Based on the files and directory names published on the hackers’ website, the stolen documents appear to be related to product design and manufacturing, and therefore not customer databases.
For example, among the published files are folders named “Women’s Sportswear,” “Men’s Sportswear,” “Training Resources – Factory,” and “Garment Manufacturing Process.”
Nevertheless, this information could also prove useful to rivals or dubious production companies. Regulators, however, are waiting, as no evidence of a data breach involving customers or internal staff has yet emerged.
Recall that the World Leaks group, which emerged in early 2025, is a rebranding of the RaaS (Ransomware-as-a-Service) group Hunters International, which announced its closure in 2024.
World Leaks focuses exclusively on data theft, which means it doesn’t use ransomware . The group’s tactics revolve around data theft and exploitation, extorting money from victim companies or selling the information to interested parties.
