Today, the Roblox gaming platform went offline in Russia. However, international services that monitor network outages reported no issues during the same period.
The main complaints concerned the inability to access the website or use the platform’s web app . According to data from Detector404 and Sboy.rf , the sharp increase in complaints about Roblox’s unavailability began around 11:30 a.m. Moscow time.
However, as the Durova’s Code portal points out, international outage monitoring services have not recorded any problems. The resource’s correspondents outside Russia have also confirmed that access to Roblox is functioning normally.
In comments about monitoring services, many users directly blame Roskomnadzor for the platform’s inaccessibility. However, some point out that even using IP address changers doesn’t improve the situation.
At the time of publication, there had been no official statement from Roskomnadzor or other agencies. Meanwhile, numerous complaints against the platform have piled up in Russia.
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of the Interior has already reported serious problems with Roblox moderation : according to their data, about half of the reported incidents involve attempted sexual abuse of minors .
In some cases, actual crimes have even occurred: for example, a rape case was reported in Yekaterinburg in which the perpetrator found the victim through Roblox.
Further alarming findings are contained in a study by Hindenburg Research, which describes the situation on the platform as a “pedophilic nightmare.” It also notes a high level of bullying among users.
