Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the opening of a new artificial intelligence lab in Kazakhstan . The announcement was made in Astana during the Digital Bridge 2025 international forum.

The lab’s first project will involve a collaboration between Telegram and the Kazakhstan supercomputer cluster , launched by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence of Kazakhstan . This partnership aims to develop advanced technologies that will allow more than a billion users to access AI capabilities transparently and securely , with a focus on privacy.

According to Durov, the Kazakh supercomputer cluster will serve as the primary computing power provider for Telegram’s AI network. The founder noted that the company opened its first regional office in Kazakhstan a year ago, expressing satisfaction with the results achieved so far.

The technology developed by the lab combines blockchain and artificial intelligence , leveraging smart contracts and free market mechanisms to ensure transparency , while the use of advanced chips ensures user privacy. Telegram has already begun integrating this technology for its large user base.
