This year, Microsoft celebrates its first 50 years, a milestone that reflects the company’s transformation from a small startup in 1975 to a global technology giant. Founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, Microsoft revolutionized the world of software with the Windows operating system, Office , and many other innovations, becoming a benchmark for users and businesses worldwide. Over the past half century, the company has reinvented itself many times, from software to cloud services with Azure, to artificial intelligence, and finally to cybersecurity.

Beyond its iconic products, Microsoft has profoundly influenced digital culture and the global economy. From the democratization of computing in the 1980s to its leadership in cloud computing and AI today, the company has pioneered technological innovation.

The fiftieth anniversary is also an opportunity to reflect on future challenges: sustainability, ethics in AI, and digital security remain central themes for the company, which continues to shape our relationship with technology.

Microsoft has unveiled collectible Windows XP-themed Crocs to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. The shoes feature a print inspired by the iconic Bliss wallpaper and come with themed Jibbitz charms, including Clippy , the Internet Explorer icon, a pixelated cursor, a trash can, a Documents icon, and the MSN butterfly logo.

According to The Verge, the limited edition will also include a blue sweepskins backpack with a sky and clouds design. Apparently, there are no plans to sell the Crocs online; instead, the company is running a sweepstakes on its Instagram account until Tuesday, October 7th, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Participants must like the post and leave a comment with the hashtag #MicrosoftCrocSweepstakes. In early August, the first Crocs became available to Microsoft employees. The Verge contacted the company to ask if they would be available for sale to the public.

However, a Microsoft representative did not immediately respond, presumably indicating the exclusivity of these Crocs.
